I had all these grandiose plans for a blog post today. Maybe something about Dr. Tiller and reproductive rights and the continuing loss of our ability to debate ideas without inflicting violence. Or maybe that post I've been meaning to write for an age about gender identity and transsexualism and feminism. Or even a confession about how profoundly disappointed I am that this new Democratic government still feels like more of the same old, and how I can't decide between hope and exasperation as our government continues to spin its wheels on so many issues and drive in the wrong direction on so many others.

But I just can't do it, you guys. I just can't. I can't even linkspam you with the news of the day, or tell you the story about how my life connects like some really twisted Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game with the last person who shot Dr. Tiller. It's just too fucking depressing, even for me.

So instead, I have only one thing to offer you, but I do think it's an important thing, maybe the most important thing if you're getting really philosophical about it.

My baby otter, let me show you it.
