agentotter: (stormy weather)
So I mentioned before that I was planning on launching a "professional"-type blog for all of my real-life stuff, and using this one only for fandom-y things. And for once, I have actually followed through. I decided not to wait until I'd perfected the design and whatever else, because I've already been working on this (or not working on it, more often) for a long time, and just launching it is probably the kick in the pants I need to get it going.

So, for pretty much anything non-fandom, you can find me on Dreamwidth at [personal profile] redroanchronicles. I am crossposting to LJ at [livejournal.com profile] redroanpony as well (the "chronicles" part was too long for LJ :D), or for the full Internetz experience, I even have a domain name pointing to the Dreamwidth journal: www.redroanchronicles.com.

One day soon I'll be designing the whole thing so it looks all awesome and special and perfect. In the meanwhile, you will find pictures of miniature horses. MINIATURE HORSES WITH SANTA HATS ON. (See? Now you can't possibly stay away.) I've already put up several posts so feel free to peruse and comment.

Just so you have an idea of what you'll be getting into by friending, these are some of the things you will find on my new journal-y-thing:
* Updates and ruminations on Juno (my horse) and Trudeau (my dog)
* Photo posts and essays (really quite a lot) on any number of subjects
* Art work, art in progress, and discussions of art technique
* Film reviews with illustrative stills. This is primarily going to be reviews of films with horses in them, and I'll mostly be reviewing how beautiful the horses are, how beautiful the men riding the horses are, and how worth it it is for you to rent these movies to see the beautiful men riding the beautiful horses. There will be lots of screen caps. But I'll also be reviewing movies that don't have much horsey content, just so I can post pictures of the horse content there is (Peter Wingfield in that dreadful Highlander movie, anyone?). I'll probably also review different movies occasionally, just for the lulz. :)
* Essays and books/video/equipment reviews on horses and horse training
* Essays and short tips on how to "MacGyver" your horsekeeping practices (it'll be mostly DIY ways to improvise a perfectly good alternative to that piece of equipment that the guy at the horse expo wanted to charge you $75 for)
* Whatever else I can think of.

I'm planning to post a lot of art content and works in progress, and pretty much all of it is going to be for sale when it's done. I'm also mulling the idea of a regular cartoon, though currently this hasn't happened because I cannot for the life of me draw cartoons. It's sort of a work in progress.

Though I am making this post public for the time being -- for anybody who is reading but doesn't actually have me friended -- I do prefer to keep my real life and my fandom life separated. I'm sure I'll be outed the first time I get into an argument on the Internet, but for what it's worth, I'd prefer that this (agentotter) journal not be associated with my real name and professional identity. Thank you very kindly for your assistance in this matter. THE END.
