agentotter: (one of those days)

Am having very bad luck with viewing lately. Watched the Doctor Who Christmas special. It was rubbish. I'm not going to put this behind a spoiler-cut because that's my entire review: it was cheesy (in the bad way, not the normal Whovian way), nonsensical, ridiculous rubbish. Thanks, Russell T. Davies. I was worried what would happen with you leaving, but now I'm looking forward to seeing how another captain will pilot this ship.

Also struck out with Eagle Eye, which I will admit that I DVRed only so that I could look at Shia LaBeouf. In that respect, it was satisfying. Other than that, it was mostly explosions. It required a lot of plot-related handwaving. There is essentially someone who is remotely forcing people to like... do stuff? And does everything from manipulating traffic lights to locking people in rooms and killing them and stuff. And the things they are able to do remotely because of how our whole world is run on technology is like... completely ludicrous. I mean, sure, we're teched up, but the stuff doesn't even WORK half the time, much less network. This film required not so much suspension of disbelief as just a surgical removal of disbelief.

Other things I have watched which sucked were apparently so bad that I don't even remember them. We're probably all better off.

In other news, I am the only one in the office today and the phone keeps ringing. It's never, ever for me. The accounts person who usually answers phones was here this morning, didn't speak a word to me all day, and then buggered off after lunch, again without a word. I suspect she's in a snit about something. Lord save me from office drama; I've avoided it so far but being the only other person here, I'm now the only target. Curses! What would Holmes and Watson do?!
